Longjohn receives an endorsement from IBEW Local 153
Portage- Today, Democratic nominee for Michigan’s 6th Congressional District, Dr. Matt Longjohn, announced that IBEW Local 153 has endorsed his campaign for Congress.
“The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 153 believes that the time has come for change in Michigan’s 6th Congressional District. The issues that face the working people of Southwest Michigan now more than ever need to be addressed. From Health Care, wage stagnation and Right to Work the working families of IBEW 153 represents well over 1350 members and retirees, 350 of which reside in Southwest Michigan. These members deserve a Congressman that will fight for them and all the residents of Southwest Michigan and that is why we endorse Dr. Matt Longjohn as the next Congressman for Michigan’s 6th district”, said IBEW COPE committee.
Longjohn also commented on the endorsement.
“I am thrilled to be endorsed by IBEW Local 153. I am running to finally give the hardworking families of Southwest Michigan the representation they need in Congress. For too long, the middle class has been shrinking while the billionaires and corporations have been getting unfair tax breaks. When I am elected, I will fight to make affordable health care a reality, make sure that all Americans are earning a living wage, and fight to get the dark corporate money out of politics. ” said Longjohn.
